Do you take digital photographs?
I offer high quality digital photography to suit your advertising
and commercial needs. Digital technology is now the industry standard
and has several advantages over film. You save money on processing and
scanning. And you get instant results. We can view shots as we go along,
deleting what we don’t like. Digital photography lets us see immediately
which angles, clothing, and lighting work best for you.
At the end of the shoot, you’ll have a CD with images in the resolution
you need for all your business communication needs. I’ll be happy
to send photographic files on directly to your printer or publication
electronically should you require it.
If you prefer traditional film, I can accommodate that request, too.
What’s special about your photography?
When most people think of “portrait”, they think of a stiff-looking
person propped against a dull background. That’s not what you’ll
find here.
During our photo session, my first goal is to make you comfortable and
relaxed. Then we’ll talk about the kind of composition, lighting,
and background that will best convey your message. My creative style has
been recognized by designers, cutting-edge magazines, and advertisers
for two decades. Every photo session is a unique challenge for me, a collaboration
where we work together to find an intriguing image that lingers in the
viewer’s mind.
What kinds of packages do you offer?
You can order different packages to suit your needs. Each package includes
basic retouching on one or more photographs. At the end of photo session,
you’ll have a CD of the entire shoot in your hands. If needed, I
can also provide proof sheets and test prints for an extra charge.
How many photos will we do?
Depending upon the package you choose, we may shoot anywhere from 100
– 300 images. We can move quickly with digital photos and get a
wide variety of shots.
What’s involved in retouching?
For basic retouching we can get rid of blemishes or stray hairs, lighten
under the eyes, lighten the smile and wrinkle lines, and also whiten the
teeth and eyes.
Do you shoot in a studio or on location?
You can choose to have photos taken inside in my studio at 5th Avenue
and 29th Street. If we shoot indoors, you can choose from a variety of
backgrounds best suited to you. Again, with digital we get to look at
shots as we go along so we can pick out the backgrounds that look best.
I’m also happy to come to you. At your office or plant, I’ll
consult with you about the best locations for photography. We’ll
find unique architectural details and settings that really make your photos
come alive. If travel is needed, I can work with you to accommodate that
request. Call me at 212-683-4853 to arrange on-location shoots.

How should I dress for
a photo session?
The number of different looks we will do depends on the headshot package
you choose, but it’s always best to bring a variety of clothing
so we can find out what works best. Some tips to keep in mind:
- Clothing should be simple and not detract
from your eyes.
- Avoid wearing jewelry.
- Bring clothes you feel comfortable in and fit you well.
- Bring different necklines so we can choose the most flattering.
- Black is okay, but try to avoid white.
- Solid colors work better than patterns or prints.
- Colors darker than your skin tone tend to look best.
- Bring jeans or pants for 3/4 shots.
- We have an iron, but it saves time if you avoid clothes that wrinkle
easily.
- Have your hair cut and styled to your liking unless you are bringing
a stylist or using our in-house stylist.
